About 500 turned out in the heat yesterday for political and social commentary and slapstick humor: Bread & Puppet’s Overtakelessness Circus. Thank you to Bread & Puppet for reminding us of the values at the foundation of our democracy and our responsibility to protect them, promoting life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all.
And thank you for being part of our little revolution at Magazine Beach, where committed citizens are working with the State and City to create a nicer park. Hear more about our efforts and Bread & Puppet, too, on WMBR’s Radio with a View. (Click on Radio With A View for Sept. 6th, 10 am. Our portion starts at about 37:05 minutes in, starting with B&P brass band music.) For a video of the event, click here.
*Public meeting for the Phase II landscape design for Magazine Beach. Date and location TBA.
*Benefit Party for Magazine Beach at the Riverside Boat Club. Sun., Oct. 4, 5-7pm. Celebrate our progress to date, help to move it forward AND toast the sunset at this historic boat club—part of the rich history of the park! $40 per person.
