The Cromwell Cup went wonderfully this past weekend thanks to great competitors, volunteers, and our Cambridgeport neighbors who came out and watched the races. The racing went smoothly, despite a bit of a breeze, and we were grateful the rain held off! We had over 700 competitors race in 40 events throughout the day, with many a Cromwell Champion crowned including our own Riverside men’s open 8+, women’s open 8+ (and quite a few more golds for the home team)!
We also had a few superstar rowers compete at the regatta: Gevvie Stone, the USA women’s single sculler, and the lightweight men’s quad (who are training at Riverside). These five athletes will be representing the USA at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam this August. More details to come on their performance abroad!
Mark your calendars for October 18-19 to celebrate the 50th racing of the Head of The Charles Regatta!
